FAQ 〰️

  • I use a combination of Clinical Massage techniques including Neuromuscular Therapy and Myofascial Release, and I incorporate some elements of Deep Tissue and Craniosacral Technique as well. See the Neuromuscular Therapy Tab at the top of the website for more info!

  • Almost certainly yes, with accommodations depending on your need!

I am experienced in working with clients who are pregnant, post-gender confirmation surgery, paralyzed, in a motorized chair, with acute and old injuries, clients experiencing grief, and with a very long list of other conditions and states.

If you have specific needs or want to talk about how massage can happen for you, book an appointment or contact me! I am committed to making it possible for you to receive massage so long as it is medically safe!

  • Please tell me! I will check in with you over the course of the massage to ensure pressure and touch are within your tolerance, and in our intake I will go over my philosophy about pressure, which is that no one should ever be in pain during a massage! And no one should be touched in a way they do not like!

I cannot anticipate the needs of every client, which is why I place so much emphasis on consent and trauma informed practice. If you are concerned about comfort and the massage, make a note about it in your intake form and we can go over it before your session!

  • No! Everyone is welcome!

I say “Queer Clinical Massage Therapy” because I am queer and I want to make that clear to people for whom that is important.

You are welcome here! Rest assured I will provide you wit my best care regardless of your identities.

  • GREAT question!

Receiving myofascial release beginning 6 weeks post-surgery can significantly increase mobility, reduce scar puckering, alleviate pinching and tension, and generally help create soft healthy tissue.

Trans competent care is very important to me. I have worked with many clients with both new and old top surgeries to great success. Whether you are planning your after-care, or had surgery 12 years ago, I can make a difference in the health of your tissue!

  • Whether you are new to my care or to massage in general, when you arrive for your first session we will chat about your goals for the massage, your relevant health history, and go over any concerns you might have.

I will talk a little about what you can expect from my practice, and propose a treatment plan for the day’s massage (so you know what to expect).

I will leave the room for you to undress (only required for the relevant areas of the body to be massaged), hop on the table under cozy flannel sheets, then I will give you a massage!

Once that is done, I will levae for you to get dressed, then we will briefly check in about how you feel and how the experience was.

  • No!

My massage technique requires skin contact to function, so depending on what areas of the body we are working on I will ask you to either remove the relevant clothing (i.e. a shirt, a bra, your socks, your pants), or talk to you about how I would move the clothing around during the massage to accommodate your comfort.

Most clients undress to their underwear, and some take all their clothes off because they find it more comfortable.

You will always be covered by a sheet and I will only expose the part of the body I am currently working on. I am experienced with secure and efficient draping techniques, and if any of this freaks you out, please talk to me! I am more than happy to make an accommodation for you in how we work.

  • Tipping is welcome but by no means necessary! When people do tip, its somewhere in the standard range of 15-25%.

  • At present, I offer all my care at full cost (125$ for 60 minutes, 188$ for 90 minutes), with an option for thre clients a week to elect to pay a sliding scale instead, if my full cost is prohibitive.

    My sliding scale is

    60 Min 65-125$

    90 Min 98-188$

And where you pay along that sliding scale is entirely at your discretion.

When you book an appointment, reach out to ask about slidig scale!
